Dr. Megan's Journey

Dr. Megan Sandri, ND, began her undergraduate journey at the University of Toronto, initially pursuing a double major in molecular genetics and psychology with the goal of becoming a genetic counsellor. As her studies progressed, she became increasingly fascinated by the profound impact of nutrition and lifestyle on gene expression and long-term health. This curiosity led her to shift her focus to nutrition, deepening her interest in disease prevention and integrative approaches to care.

At the same time, Dr. Megan’s own health challenges introduced her to naturopathic medicine. With the guidance of a naturopathic doctor, she experienced firsthand the power of holistic, individualized care—an experience that solidified her decision to pursue naturopathic medicine as a career.

Dr. Megan earned her Honours Bachelor of Science and went on to complete her Doctor of Naturopathy degree at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). During her clinical training, she completed a placement at the CCNM Integrative Cancer Centre, where she worked under the mentorship of experienced naturopathic doctors providing care to people with cancer. This experience sparked a lasting passion for integrative oncology, which she continues to pursue through a two-year clinical residency focused exclusively on cancer care.

In addition to oncology, Dr. Megan also has a strong clinical focus in cardiometabolic health, including blood sugar regulation, insulin resistance, and weight-related concerns. She supports patients in managing and preventing chronic conditions through personalized, evidence-informed care that blends natural therapies, nutrition, and lifestyle medicine.

Whether working with individuals navigating cancer or those addressing cardiometabolic concerns, Dr. Megan is committed to helping patients feel empowered and supported. She focuses on sustainable, step-by-step changes that make a meaningful impact on health and well-being. Her approach is rooted in the naturopathic principle of “Doctor as Teacher,” and she places a strong emphasis on education, collaboration, and addressing the root causes of illness.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Megan enjoys cooking, yoga, discovering new books, and exploring nature. She is an active member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP), the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
